The Ancient Causeway
According to Coxe, and ancient causeway ran between the villages of South Barrow and North Barrow. On Midsummer's Eve, the apparitions of King Arthur and his faithful knights would gallop across it in company with soldiers. These men were armed with spears "tipped with flame".
